San Domenico Stakes 2012 Nominations Feature Star Youngsters

August 13th, 2012

Two horses who excelled as juveniles headline nominations for the Group 3 $125,000 2012 San Domenico Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

All Too Hard, the half-brother of champion mare Black Caviar, is joined by Golden Slipper runner-up Snitzerland in the nine-horse nominations list.

Both trialled impressively earlier this month and will both use the race as the first in their spring campaigns on the way to bigger targets.

It is still unclear whether All Too Hard will line up as he is also nominated for the Starlight Stakes but Snitzerland is a confirmed starter.

All Too Hard is likely to be targeted at the prestigious Caulfield Guineas this spring as well as the Golden Rose while Snitzerland will have five sprint targets with the eventual goal the Coolmore Stud Stakes.

Also nominated alongside the pair is Magic Millions Classic winner Driefontein who was last seen finishing runner-up in the Listed Keith Mackay Quality to Single Style in April.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained filly won the first four starts of her career before finishing sixth in the Golden Slipper.

Other San Domenico nominations include Anthony Cummings-trained colt Ninth Legion and Clarry Connors-trained Stylish Lad.
